OUR CHURCH
WHAT WE BELIEVE
THE BIBLE
We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God
and that it is infallible, inerrant,
and eternally reliable
in all matters of Christian faith and practice.
2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Samuel 22:31; Proverbs 30:5
SALVATION
We believe that salvation is by grace,
through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ alone.
To become a Christian, we must confess and repent of sin to God,
turn to God, have faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and be regenerated by the Holy Spirit.
God's purpose for human history is to redeem and transform all people
Into his image through Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-10; John 14:6; Acts 2:38; John 3:16; Romans 10:9-10
THE PERSON AND WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is for today and through the Holy Spirit,
Christians are empowered to live a Godly life.
We believe the Holy Spirit imparts to the believers the gifts of the Holy Spirit,
empowering and manifesting them as He wills.
And we believe that every believer must be filled
continually with The Holy Spirit in Order to live the victorious Christian life.
Matthew 3:11; John 14:1-17, 25-26; Acts 1:4-5,8; Acts 2:1-4; 1 Corinthians 12-14
THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ will return soon
for those who have believed in him and received His gift of salvation.
Jesus Christ is the blessed hope for the church.
John 14:2-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52
OUR PASTOR
Reverend Lucious G. Buggs IV
Born in 1970 the first son of Lucious and Freda Buggs in Munich Germany, Rev. Lucious G. Buggs IV, is the younger of two children.
Rev. Buggs was trained up in fear and admonition of the Lord. Along with his family he was a member of Mt. Zion M.B.C. of Carverdale under the leadership of Rev. Dr. H. L. Bailey Sr... He was a member of the youth choir. He faithfully attended the worship services and attended and participated in various teaching ministries such as BTU, Sunday School and V.B.S.
He was ordained as a Deacon in 1994 and later served as Financial Secretary and Administrator at Mt. Zion M.B.C. under the leadership of Pastor George Gray Sr.
Rev. Buggs as a Deacon at the time displayed a zeal for Gods word and along with Deacon Ricky Hurt organized the Mt. Zion M.B.C. Brotherhood of which he was one of the teachers for several years. He exercised his gift in teaching and exemplified growth in the word.
He is the father of 5 composing a blended family after Marriage In 2003 to Mary Goodson. In 2005 he accepted his call to minster the Gospel. He preached his first sermon July 10, 2005 at Mt. Zion.
In 2008 Rev. Buggs moved his membership to Fellowship M.B.C. under the leadership of Pastor T.W. Swayzer. He was ordained March 15, 2009 and appointed Youth Pastor. After continued demonstration of faithful commitment to God and Fellowship M.B.C. Rev. Buggs was appointed the Assistant Pastor in 2010. Pastor Swayzer stepped down from pastoral ship January 2011. Rev. Buggs accepted the role of Interim Pastor and operated in that capacity for six months. He remained faithful and committed to Fellowship M.B.C. in the time of transition. Pastor Buggs since his inception has continued to press the issue of the church worshiping God and serving its community. He reminds us that we all serve God through the people and we serve the people through the power of God. Pastor Buggs continues to emphasize that the Church is in the world to do ministry and instituted a food pantry among other ministries and a more active outreach ministry. His vision for the church is to be a beacon first in our community and thus becoming a light in the world. We must graduate from Membership to Discipleship.
